You know, you don’t have to be a high-flyer to have a VPA these days. VPA’s aren’t only for corporate big guns, movie stars and politicians any more….you can have a VPA handling many of your mundane daily tasks for less than $100/week. You would be surprised just how much more time you will have on your hands when someone else is worrying about and dealing with the “small things” – the things that get in the way of you having the time you need to build your business or organize your life more effectively.

VPA vs Auto-responder

The other day I signed up for a trial with an on-line email marketing service. I did the sign up, received the normal opt-in email with the log-in details. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to start the trial period yet so I did nothing.

After a couple of days I received an email (clearly an auto-response) asking me why I hadn’t started the trial yet. The name of the sender was the same name on the reply email address so I thought I would send my new best friend an email telling him or her, why I hadn’t started the trail period and asked for some help.

So far every day for the last 4 days now I have received an email from my new best friend showing great concern that I haven’t started my free trial of their fantastic auto-responded email software. Still no actual answer to my email.

So what’s the lesson learned here… simple when you hire someone like me to respond to opt-ins or emails attached to a campaign I actually receive the email and respond human to human to answer any questions your potential client or lead may be asking!

So what’s the take-a-way here… the company that has not responded to my email has lost a $300 per month customer and I have taken my business else where.

Auto responders may be convenient at times but nothing replaces the feeling a potential client, lead or customers gets when someone (not a computer) actually answers their email.

At Your VPA we don’t charge any set-up fees, like some other VPA services. We consider this to be “double billing” – we believe that the set-up process – where we learn about your needs and tailor our services to suit those needs – should be included in our first month’s standard fees. If you sign up with Your VPA we will spend some time asking questions and finding out about your business and where we can be of the most assistance to you – do you have trouble meeting deadlines, making appointments, answering emails in a timely manner, or just staying “organised” from day to day? We will look at your individual needs and analize what services we can offer that would help you the most. We consider this work part and parcel of getting to know you and your business, and so we don’t charge extra for this.
